Next weekend, September 29–30, 2012, is the CQ World Wide RTTY Contest. This annual worldwide amateur radio contest using digital modes attracts approximately 15,000 contesters each year. And somewhere among them, the call sign OM0A should also appear.
Digi operation via a remote station is a bit more complicated. The first step involves physically turning off the RF processor and adjusting the power settings; the second step involves connecting an additional sound card to the client PC and linking it to the main sound card. After that, all that’s left is to configure the software and set up the audio devices.
