Errors in the SSB League – March 2026

No contester is happy to see errors in their log. Every error means a loss of points, which can result in a drop in the standings. This time, even I wasn’t immune to errors. The SSB League is actually one of the simpler contests, since the exchanged code consists of a report and a county, which usually doesn’t change.

TIP: Call Sign Database with Counties

Okno N1MM+ ukazujúce meno a okres z databáze N1MM+ window showing the call sign and county from the database

Take advantage of the call sign database in your logger software. I use N1MM+ with a manually created database of OK and OM stations. After entering a call sign, I see the name and often the county abbreviation, which is automatically entered into the county abbreviation field.

In the first 14 minutes, I make 31 contacts. Then the pace fluctuates; in the next quarter-hour, only 15 contacts. The following quarter-hour brings another wave of stations, with as many as 27 contacts, and by the end of the hour, another 17 contacts are added.

OK1JPP

The first error is the county in the contact with OK1JPP. Only part of the contact can be heard on the recording, but it seems that Petr transmitted the incorrect information, which he then corrected. However, the correction isn’t reflected in my log.

OK4IMK

The second error is also the district, but in the contact with OK4IMK. The recording clearly says “HBR.” For some unknown reason, I wrote down “FHK.” Martin, sorry!

Still, 89 confirmed contacts isn’t bad.
