Two members of OM0A participated in the HA DX Contest. It’s a good opportunity to practice contest contacts ahead of the CQ WPX Contest. Unlike the monthly SSB League and the OM Activity Contest, the HA DX Contest primarily involves making contacts with foreign stations.
Števo OM7KW chose the SOSB 80m LOW category. In the few hours he was on the band, he made 81 contacts and scored approximately 1,700 points. Vilo OM0AAO was on the band longer and also used a power amplifier, which placed him in the SOSB 80m HIGH category. However, due to work commitments, he was on the band for only a few hours. He logged 204 contacts and over 3,700 points.
Next weekend, the UBA Contest 2009 will take place—one of the last opportunities to test equipment for the WPX!
