The IARU Region 1 50 MHz Contest will take place on the third weekend of June, June 16–17, from 14:00 UT to 14:00 UT. The exchange consists of RS(T) + the connection number starting with 001 + the locator. The locator must be provided in six-digit format. In the single category, the use of a DX cluster is not permitted; anyone who uses this aid will be classified as a multi-operator station.
After several years of absence, I’ve prepared at least a simple setup for this very interesting contest: President Lincoln + HM XVRT + 4-element G0KSC yagi. The first weekend tests were promising; conditions allowed for contacts with several EU countries. Even with QRP power (approx. 4W), it’s possible to make successful contacts on 6m.
We’ll see how many contacts OM0A from locator KN09dd makes in the IARU Region 1 50 MHz contest. Have a great weekend, and I look forward to hearing you on 6m, friends!
