The July OM Activity Contest followed a similar pattern to the SSB League a week earlier. A change in the rules expanded the SSB segment to 75 kHz, but since there were fewer stations, it didn’t really make a difference.
I alternated between calling CQ, SO2V, and S&P. I heard several stations making contacts with other stations, but during the entire time I didn’t hear them call, and they didn’t respond to my calls. Apparently, they didn’t hear me. I was unable to reach several stations.
Propagation conditions, however, showed a slight tendency to change. During the first third of the OM Activity Contest, conditions were weaker than later on, but the background noise was higher. In the end, I made 43 contacts with 19 multipliers.
