One of the most interesting stages of the OM Activity Contest, with 30% of my contacts made on a second receiver in SO2V mode using a Yaesu FT-1000MP transceiver.
I start by calling on 3701 kHz. It’s not entirely free of interference, but I don’t expect to stay on the air here for long with QRP power. During the contact with OK1LO, intense interference sets in
However, we manage to complete the contact, likely because Láďa is also operating at QRP power, which calls for greater patience. After this contact, the interference doesn’t reappear. In addition to calling, I use a second receiver on the FT-1000MP. Twice I noticed that a signal appeared on 3701 kHz while I was on the air with it, but I didn’t lose this frequency for the entire contest.
Libor OK1LST had an excellent signal this time.
I made 44 contacts on 3701 kHz and 19 contacts with the second receiver. That’s 30%! It’s an advantage to be able to call and scan the band for stations at the same time. Anyone who’s done the math knows that’s a total of 63 contacts! With a multiplier of 25, that comes out to 1,575 points for cross-checking logbooks.
Due to the multiple contacts on the second receiver, you won’t be able to hear some stations in the MP3 recordings this time. In those cases, only the signal from the main receiver is recorded.
