With QRP, it’s not worth tuning into the most heavily used bands for the OM Activity Contest. Just like in the SSB League, I start by calling on the lower end of the frequency range. SO2V works excellently; I’ve made up to 15 contacts in this mode using the second receiver on my Yaesu FT-1000MP.

Today’s report also includes a timeline showing the ratio of contacts on the main and second receivers over time. Even on a 10-minute scale, it’s clear that the pace is faster at the beginning, which doesn’t allow for greater use of SO2V. Noteworthy is the period between the 40th and 50th minutes, when the number of contacts via the secondary receiver is actually higher than via the main one!
I was thus able to work on the challenge for the entire duration of the OM Activity Contest. There are certainly stations I wasn’t able to work. Among my colleagues who also use QRP power, I made contact with OK2VPX
I managed to earn 24 multipliers. I also heard Jaro OM1EE. He would have brought another multiplier. However, there was a lot of interference on the frequency, and Jaro drifted off somewhere. The last multiplier, “Q,” was probably out of reach. But 62 contacts is a number that wouldn’t look out of place even in the QRO category.
