After the less-than-ideal reception conditions in the OM Activity Contest—it felt like déjà vu. But maybe even a little worse.

TIP – Address stations by name
Most contest stations know each other. I’ve made dozens of contacts with many of them. If you address a station by name even when reception is poor, it increases their confidence that you’ve understood their call sign. At the same time, it’s more pleasant and friendly.
The June OM Activity Contest…

… was challenging. We’ll see how many contacts the stations won’t have recognized. Propagation conditions were truly unfavorable. Occasionally a signal would appear and then fade away after a few seconds. For quite a while, I was missing two multipliers, but when Martin OK1VHH called, my log had a full 26 multipliers.
The recordings were mostly made with the noise blanker turned on, but you’ll probably still agree that the signal intelligibility was poor.
