SSB League with MP3 recordings of contacts – September 2024

After a long break due to illness, I’m finally able to participate in amateur radio contests. The band is already bustling with activity a quarter of an hour before the start of the SSB League.

I also start by calling, but despite the contest having begun, there are few callers, and several of my calls go unanswered. I’m lucky that Libor OK1LST is also calling with QRP power:

At my QTH, the noise and interference level on the 80-meter inverted-V antenna, as measured by the S-meter on my Yaesu FT-1000MP transceiver, reaches S9 to S9+5 dB. The K9AY receiving antenna is better suited for DX operations, but I’m currently testing a horizontal loop, which seems to be working very well.

Vinco OM7AT came through with an excellent signal:

Jaro OM1EE was a surprise, as he’s struggling with interference at his QTH. It’s a difficult situation, because there are more and more devices causing interference.

Martin OK1VHH also has an excellent signal:

After a quarter of an hour of operation, there are some quiet minutes, so I start using SO2V mode. At the same time, I’m losing the frequency, so I start scanning the band.

OK2BMI was also operating as OK2UNC and OK2OLD:

Ferko OM8TA and OM3KWM were operating under two call signs. Note the difference in signal strength over the course of a few seconds:

The Poprad district was represented not only by OM0AJ, but also by Peťo OM0AGP:

Another dual-call sign station was Cyro OM7AAC + OM3KWZ:

After one hour, the log shows 83 contacts with 56 districts. Here are all the recordings from the September round of the 2024 SSB League:
