CQ WPX Contest
In just a few days, the OM0A team will be back on the shortwave airwaves. The SSB portion of the CQ WPX Contest will take place on the last weekend of March, March 26–27, 2011. The goal of the contest is to make as many contacts as possible with radio amateurs around the world.
The following have confirmed their participation: Viliam OM0AAO, Igor OM6CI, Števo OM7KW, Peťo OM6PR, Dano OM4AQP, Pavel OK1PMA, and Rado OM0AMR.
A new addition will be a 4-element Yagi on 21 MHz mounted on a new mast. Since solar activity has increased at least slightly, this band is opening up more than it did a year ago, as shown by the live map at http://www.vhfdx.info/spots/map.php?Lan=E&Frec=21&ML=M&Map=EU&DXC=N&HF=S&GL=N. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything goes well!
