OM0A’s contest events gave several operators the chance to experience international contests firsthand. In addition to those who got a taste of it this way, nearly two dozen other amateur radio operators were interested in the opportunity to participate in one of the events or to visit us.
Competitive contesting requires operators to participate regularly in contests from home, expand their knowledge, and get involved in team activities. Although all current operators expressed interest, very few were able to follow through, and organizing a team event proved extremely difficult.
Therefore, OM0A will continue to participate regularly in contests in the future, but in the SingleOp category, which is easier to manage.
