Presumably, the largest group consists of radio amateurs who engage in making conventional radio contacts with other amateur stations, of which there are several million around the world. The second large group consists of amateurs who are mainly involved in designing, building, and testing various electronic devices and antennas that can be used in amateur radio practice.
