The lowest VHF amateur radio band is the 50 MHz band, with a wavelength of 6 metres. It is also known as the “magic band”. It is characterised by a wide variety of propagation modes, including tropospheric propagation (tropo), aurora, meteor scatter, and EME (Earth-Moon-Earth).
