Amateur radio, also known as HAM radio, is a type of radio communication service used for the purposes of self-education, mutual communication, and technical study by amateurs who are licensed individuals interested in radio technology solely for personal interest and without financial gain. It is a hobby, a noble pursuit that usually stays with a person for life.
We have been captivated by the field of amateur radio contests—contesting. Enthusiasts in this field devote themselves to establishing amateur radio contacts and compete to see who can make the most of them within a given time limit.
Our team, OM0A, is centered around Viliam OM0AAO. Its members are Miška OM4AQW, Martin OM4AAS, Števo OM7KW, and Igor OM6ACI. Although we come from different parts of Slovakia, we’ve decided to join forces for the upcoming WPX Contest. Wish us luck!
