One of the tasks, we have to address the CQ WPX Contest, the reliable communication computer – Icom transceiver. Originally intended controller had occasional problems with the start of the communication between these devices. Since we use log N1MM DX cluster, Bandmap-in and RETUNE the specified frequency band or software, this is a very important element of the operator. There is a worse situation than the pile-up “frozen log”. For this reason, we conceived Icom CI-V interface.
Participation is in principle very simple bidirectional voltage converter with two transistors, and a few components as shown in Scheme. Photo shows our solution on a piece of universal circuit. The logs do not forget to activate the voltage at DTR.
