In a recent CQ World Wide WPX SSB Contest 2025 I was helping the OM3KUK team. They use the Hop Direction in the JN99BB site, Where do they have a chat background. It is not a traditional KV location. In addition, it is only available on foot and electricity is provided by photovoltaic.
For some of the team this will be the world's first contest. So the goals are not set to the maximum. But the guys have prepared a 7-element tribander and a wire antenna for the bottom bands. With Zden Om4azl we will arrange a meeting in the parking lot at 9.30. We will take over the baton after the night shift. We come despite different routes at once. We'll wrap things up and follows 25 minutes of climb. Zdeno connects his ICOM IC-7300, I am editing n1mm+ so far. We gradually collect connections. This diversifies a visit to tourists, to show what we do.
In the afternoon Juro Om4ajk comes. With Zden we descend down and pack - wooden briquettes. This also requires contesting from hop. We are sitting back to the radio for a while. On Sunday morning I am returning to Hop. The guys are QRT: the batteries discharged at night and so they have to wait, While at least a little recharged. On the table is now the club Kenwood TS-140s. Most of the game, that broadcast overnight is collected down. Juro Om4ajk stays here and we are waiting for Petr Om4aja. We change the device again. Yaesu FT-991 is on the table. We collect other connections. Rišo OM6RT comes to visit. At the 16th we say goodbye and leave the rest of the contest to Peter. He did not lack and added additional connections to the evening, thus shifting the result almost half a million points.

For me it was an unusual contest. I haven't had the opportunity to broadcast with radio amateurs long ago, who show so great enthusiasm for each QSO. Thank you OM3KUK I also for the hospitality and great company!
