After omitting the OM VHF LOW POWER Contest, which I wanted to participate from Považský Inovec, JN98as, I was looking forward to the August VHF Operating Assets again. The weather forecast promised a hot day.

Antenna and transceiver preparations for VHF PA
Position YU7EF antenna I have already practiced the whole setup, but there are certainly some things that can be improved. I like construction of the antenna through the needle OK1FJZ. These are such little things as a support handle in the car garden, tensioning of anchor ropes and the like. I use a retractable mast with a relatively small antenna, so it's not hard to lift the antenna.
We also managed to start the power plant. After more experienced advice, I loosened the lid, so that it can suck in air and no vacuum is created. Until the beginning of the VHF, the Operating Asset remained about 20 minutes. I configured the log and tuned in band, when the generator has switched off - again. I moved it to another location and carefully started again. After a minute, she turned off again. I started it again - one last try. She caught for the first time. This time I moved the choke just a little bit.
Because she ran, so i started the race with R2CW transceiverom and a new amplifier based MRF9180. But the initial connections didn't look like it at all, that I have better equipment and higher performance. One station alerted me to "narrow" modulation. This cannot be verified very much on a hill. However, since I can't simply transfer the amplifier to the TR-751E, so i decided to continue with R2CW.
Frequency offset R2CW
Connections failed at the challenge or at the expense. Only a later connection to the 9A station showed, that the problem is in frequency reading. Sked was agreed on 144,222 MHz, but the R2CW display showed 144,118 MHz!
I focused on searching, but the connections grew very slowly anyway. I also heard DL stations. Dissemination conditions appeared better than in previous months, but it didn't go well. That's why I pulled out a Kenwood TR-751E this afternoon and it felt better. This is confirmed by the number of connections, which in the third hour is higher than in the second hour.

Number of connections and locator squares in VHF PA
The end is in the log 50 connection and only 14 locator squares. Near, under Mikulčiný vrch, OK2DTF/p, went much better. And it managed to connect to KN19 with OM0FC, which I don't normally do. map links http://www.opencontest.org/edi/map/20210816155218000511CUPMYI
At home, I compared the accuracy of frequency reading on R2CW against TR-751E. Initial deviation after switching on 1 kHz rose in a few minutes at 2 kHz. The transmitted signal appears to be stable, it's just a frequency subtraction. However, according to the manual, such a deviation is within the limit.
I also compared modulation. She didn't look bad to me, but there are some sounds in the background, which are not on the TR-751E. As if it were some induction into the modulation path. So there is something to deal with until the next VHF event.
